Principal Activity
Confrides is a town whose economomical activity is outstandingly agricultural, however its proximity to tourist centres and to the Guadalest castle has inspired a timid nucleus in the service sector, supported by rural tourism. It main tourist attraction is in its proximity to the summit and the Castle de la Sierra Aitana which is possible to reach from the Square of the town, where there is a magnificent walnut tree, the symbol of Confrides.
Description
A town situated in the interior of the province, in the region of the Marina Baja, on the road which leads to Alcoy. On the route to Beniarda, on the left, we have the small and pretty village of Abdet in which one can eat very well. It also has a good offer of accommodation in rural houses.
Geographical Location
Next to the northern skirt of the Sierra Aitana it is one of the highest towns in the province. It belongs to the Valley of Guadalest, 75 Km from Alicante.
Scenery
The whole north skirt of the Sierra de Aitana mountain.
Excursions
The river Guadalest begins here and we can go to various waterfalls in the Sierra Aitana: The Font de l’Arbre, the Font de la Forata and the Font de Machelis. The town centre of L’Abdet.

Fiestas
Around the last Sunday in August, the town fiestas in honour of the patron saints San Jose y la Madre de Dios de los Dolores.
From 22nd – 23 rd August, the local fiestas in El Abdet.
Monuments
The chruch from XVIII. A huge oak tree. The ruins of an Arab medieval castle.
The parroquial church, a building of architectural interest.
