Tourism.

Tarbena is to be found on the route between Callosa D’en Sarria and Pego.  The last town of the Marina Baixa before entering, via the Coll de Rates, the Valley del Pop.  Its ancient moorish settlers rebelled against the expulsion order made by Felipe III.  On losing the battle and being expelled Tarbena ended up without any population.  El Virrey from Palma de Mallorca sent 17 families to re-populate it and as a result Tarbena acquired a new cultural identity.  The most typical trait of this town is the mountain scenery.  A mild climate, although there sporadic snowfalls, this privileged place offer its visitors fresh air perfumed by the aromatic smells from the plants on the mountains.

On the road from Pego to Callosa d’En Sarria, 27 Km. From Alicante, 84 Km from Denia, 26Km from Benidorm and 119 Km from Torrevieja.

Town Fiestas in the first weekend of August.  The 4th of December – Santa Barbara.

Parroquial church with its multicoloured exterior, ruins of the Moors’ houses.  A nativity scene that is on display from December until February.

The gully de Les Letres in Ferrer.  The House of Bixauca and the unpopulated Moorish area of Garx in the Carrascal de Parcent.  Caves of Les Letres, del Moret and Dalt.
